Who really won / lost the political battle of 2010?

This is a pretty smart article on the post-election fallout.

What happened in 2010 was a party took a stand on a major issue, knowing that it could cost them their jobs. For many - it did. But the lasting effects will be worth it. Biden knew it was a "big fucking deal." It was.

I think you found a very worthwhile article that makes an important point. I believe that a majority of voters expressed a general frustration by turning around and voting Republican. Many, such as the young and minorities simply chose not to vote. To read any kind of "mandate" or repudiation of this or that into an election result is pure bunk. Reading this article I can't help but think of the Tea Party protesters who carried the signs telling the government to "keep your hands off my Medicare"! The Republicans have a lot that they're against, but no positive program, so things should turn around if they don't start going down hill again. "It's the economy, stupid." Still true.
